Our desire is to see our middle and high school students (grades 6-12) become devoted followers of Jesus and share that love of Christ with everyone they meet. Our students get together frequently on both Wednesdays and Sundays to develop deeper friendships and gain a deeper understanding of the Word of God.

Weekly Gatherings

Wednesday Nights

Faith Student Ministry meets on Wednesday nights from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. for prayer, games, worship, and Bible study. We meet across from the main building (2314 Library Circle), and we invite all students in 6th through 12th grade to join us!

We’ve decided to pursue an exegetical-expository approach to the Apostle Peter’s first letter during the summer months.

Going verse-by-verse through the book, we’ll cover topics ranging from personal holiness (1 Peter 1:16-17), corporate unity (1 Peter 2:1-3, 9), suffering-righteously in a fallen world (1 Peter 4:12-19), and other implications of Christ’s death and resurrection (1 Peter 3:18-22) to more practical topics like gender and family (1 Peter 3:1-7) and being part of a local church (1 Peter 4:10-11, 5:1-11).

We’ll rely on LifeWay’s Explore the Bible curriculum to keep our small group leaders and up-front teachers synced up and pulling in the same direction. We’re excited about what the Lord can and does do when His people open His Word together.

Sunday Mornings (During the School Year)

The Scriptures have a great deal to say about young people. Many heroes of the faith were heroic in their youth, consider Josiah and Samuel, Daniel and his friends, David’s slingshot, or most importantly, Jesus’ questions in His Father’s house (Luke 2:46-49). Like their Lord, students (6th – 12th grade, 11-18-year-olds) increase in wisdom and stature, and – by God’s grace, in favor with God and man.

The uniqueness of their season of life as maturing children or young adults warrants special instruction. This is true, right, and good. After all, Paul gave Timothy and Titus specific instructions concerning young men and women in contrast to older men and older women (1 Tim 5:1-2, Titus 2:4-6).

Beginning Fall of 2024, our goal is for our student ministries to function like our adult Fellowship Groups on Sunday mornings from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. We will read scripture, exhort, and teach (1 Timothy 4:13), pray, discuss, and devote ourselves to good works.

Green Pastures Student Ministry Retreat

“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want”

Famous words from a famous Psalm, David writes of the Lord as a shepherd to describe God's character and fundamental relationship with His people. It's a song to build a life on, for it introduces us to the God of life who makes us lie down in green pastures and leads us beside still waters.

Join Faith Student Ministries for a three-day, two-night retreat for Students finishing 6th—12th grade. The midweek retreat will focus on time in the open air, exciting group activities, and meaningful interactions around the Scriptures. We're excited about what this small trip could mean for a sense of community among our students and the potential for a new partnership at Rustic Oaks outside of Moorehead, MN.

Students will bunk in the Dromsted guesthouse and enjoy big green spaces, campfires in the evening, hiking, and (hopefully!) fishing opportunities.

Details:

  • Capacity: Space is somewhat limited, so register today to reserve your spot!

  • Cost: Due to successful fundraising efforts this spring, this trip comes at zero cost to our students. Praise God!

  • Consideration: At Faith Evangelical Free Church, we "promote grades" on August 1st of a given year. So, grades are relative to the year of school just finished for this July retreat.

Declaring the Word of God and discipling students into mature and devoted followers of Christ is best done with many hands. We think that the most effective way to disciple students is to partner with their parents and other more seasoned saints in the faith. If you have an interest in serving with us for the sake of the Kingdom of God at work in the lives of students, then please reach out, and we’ll get you started on the application process.
