John Denny

Maintenance Technician

John began serving as the Maintenance Technician in October 2017 having been the Location Engineer for Lake McDonald Lodge in Glacier National Park for 7 years.  Prior to that, John taught Drafting, Construction trades, and Industrial Technology in secondary and post-secondary schools for 20 years in South Dakota and Montana.

John was born in Great Falls, Montana, were he played drums in the Golden Skylines Drum and Bugle Corps; he also played drums in junior high and high school and has been playing on and off since then. After high school John spent 3 years in the Navy as a Corpsman followed by several years as a paramedic in Spokane and Great Falls.

John and his wife Dawn met while working at Rising Sun Motor Inn in Glacier Park in 1986. They married in December of 1986 and they have two sons. John earned an Associate Degree in Broadcast engineering in 1983 from The Cleveland School of Electronics and earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from Montana State University in 1992.  John is a jack of all trades, master of none.

When John is not working he loves working on his HO scale railroad, reading anything technical, history, mystery series, and cheesy westerns. He also watches too much television -- usually the History Channel, National Geographic, DIY network, and HGTV.
